U.S. Kids is an independent child development center for children ages three months to five years. For over 20 years, U.S. Kids staff have been committed to and focused on providing the highest quality of care and a positive environment for children.
U.S. Kids is a secure and happy place for both children and their parents. Our goal is to meet the developmental, emotional, social, physical and intellectual needs of children. The Center respects and accommodates the developmental stages of all children and promotes positive self-image. At U.S. Kids, we appreciate children, their diversity, their challenges, and their successes.
The primary purpose of U.S. Kids is to provide for the care, development and education of the children of employees of the U.S. Government agencies that sponsor the Center: the Executive Office of the President, the Export-Import Bank of the United States, the Department of the Treasury, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Department of Justice. Although U.S. Kids gives priority to families from these sponsoring agencies, other children may be enrolled if space is available, with priority given to children of other employees of the United States Government.

My 3 kids all went to US Kids. Our oldest started in the infants room in late 2017. She is now getting ready for kindergarten and we have received feedback from her teachers about how well US Kids has prepared her for a school setting.
This is a wonderful place where your child will be treasured and nurtured every day. The staff is extremely devoted, caring, and professional. The facility is bright and new, securely located in a federal building. Creative Curriculum is implemented throughout the year, with themed lesson plans that are adapted to each age group. For example, this week my 5-year-old, 3-year-old, and 10-month-old are all learning about community helpers. The teachers make learning fun and encourage the kids to develop at their own pace. They have years, if not decades of expertise in early childhood education, and their judgment is impeccable. (It was priceless as a first-time mom!) As a nonprofit, US Kids is driven to provide excellent care to families at an affordable cost. They provide enrichment activities, especially for "summer camp" where each day has a different offering (cooking, music, science, art, gymnastics, Spanish).
Federal employment is not required, but it does have some advantages (discount!) Don't miss out on this hidden gem in your DC childcare search :)

Until now I have never rated anything a 5. Not a restaurant, movie or hotel. U.S. Kids is the first thing in my experience that has earned a 5. I have had one daughter who spent from 3 months to pre K at US Kids and another who is now nearing pre K. 7 years in all. I can truly say if you are lucky enough to be admitted to this school, run don't walk to accept. The staff is amazing and deeply care about each and every child. The facilities are kept at high standards (and were else is the park in front of the White House your child's playground), safety is better than most government buildings, and the curriculum is first rate. My older daughter left US Kids able to read and do addition before starting Kindergarten. My younger daughter, not yet three, was potty trained in a week, can recognize almost all her letters, can count to 30, and knows a number of sight words. Oh, and they teach Spanish also so she also knows letters, numbers, colors and other words in Spanish also. I literally could sing their praises for pages but let me end by saying, best facility in DC and that is due almost exclusively to the amazing teachers and of course Director who are all dedicated to the well being and education of the kids.
