Hello parents! Welcome to Featherstone Little Playhouse, our licensed in-home daycare and preschool in Woodbridge, VA.

Our family child care program is nestled in a quiet and residential area of Woodbridge, VA, near the Featherstone National Wildlife Refuge and Neabsco Creek. Located right off Rippon Blvd, we’re just moments away from Richmond Hwy (Route 1) and the I-95, making it a convenient location for a stress-free commute to work.

I'm the proud owner and nurturing caregiver of Featherstone Little Playhouse. As a mother of two delightful children aged 3 years old and 7 months, and with over 5 years of professional early education experience, I understand the importance of providing a safe, loving, and enriching environment for your little ones. Your child’s well-being is my top priority, and I'm committed to offering the same level of care and attention that I give to my own kids.
Program Information
At Featherstone Little Playhouse, we welcome infants as young as 1 month old, as well as toddlers and up to energetic 7-year-old preschoolers. Whether you're seeking full-time or part-time care, our flexible child care options can cater to your family's needs. We believe in creating a warm and inclusive space where each child feels valued and supported in their unique developmental journey.
Teaching Philosophy & Curriculum
Our teaching philosophy revolves around play-based learning, ensuring that every day is filled with fun exploration and discovery. Through engaging circle time, daily writing and reading classes, and art sessions, we foster an environment that prepares children for Pre-K and Kindergarten. We believe that learning should be fun, and our approach reflects this core belief.
In addition to English, I speak Arabic and Amharic. While we focus on English as the primary language, we can also introduce elements of these languages to encourage if you so choose, to develop cultural appreciation among our little learners.

My 8-month-old daughter has been attending this daycare since the beginning of the year, and the experience has been nothing short of exceptional.
From the very start, the daycare owner has demonstrated an incredible level of care and dedication. Her genuine love for my daughter is evident every day. It’s heartwarming to see how much effort she puts into creating a nurturing and supportive environment for the little ones. The daycare space is always spotless and well-organized, which gives me peace of mind knowing that my daughter is in a safe and hygienic environment. She regularly brings my daughter outside to play in their yard and it’s clear she understands the importance of fresh air and outdoor play in a child’s growth and well-being. One of the things I appreciate most is her flexibility. Life can be unpredictable, and it’s reassuring to know that she is accommodating and understanding when emergencies arise. Her willingness to work with our family’s needs has been a tremendous help. I would recommend this daycare to any parent looking for a loving, safe, and stimulating place for their child. This provider is an amazing person to take care of my children. She is very protective and takes full responsibility of my kids. I am very comfortable to leave my kids with her. The daycare is really clean and organized.
It has really exceeded my expectations they take really good care of my son great with communication, they keep me updated throughout the day on my sons care, their really informative and great positive attitudes. The daycare is really clean and organized if you're looking for a good fit for your child I would recommend you to take a tour with them.

We spent many months looking for the perfect childcare for our first child. I was very cautious about where/which we chose. My husband and I seriously thought, in the first place, between choosing a daycare with all the modern amenities and a personal family childcare, where one-on-one personal care and relationship can take place with our son in his early developmental major years. We chose the latter. And I couldn't be happier with her amazing care of our son. Our son’s face glows every time we drop him off with her. She does an amazing job of being very thorough in letting us know everything that is happening, as well as any concerns that she has about our son. I would, without question, recommend the care of her to anyone currently seeking childcare services, and have nothing but positive things to report with regards to the level of care and safety our baby receives.
