Welcome to Lake Ridge Kids Playhouse, our licensed daycare and preschool in Woodbridge, VA. Our in-home child care facility is located in the Lake Ridge neighborhood of the Agnewville area. We’re very accessible to commuters since we’re near Minnieville Rd and Old Bridge Rd, and just a few minutes’ away from Prince William Pkwy (Route 294), Gordon Blvd (route 123), and the I-95. We are a mother and daughter team with 17 years of combined experience in child care and early childhood education. I’m the owner and main caregiver, and I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childcare Education as well as CPR & First-aid certifications. My mom used to own a daycare where I worked as an assistant, which is the reason why I was inspired to pursue a career in child care and open my own daycare. We love working with kids and families! It’s a very fulfilling job because we get the chance to influence the children and witness how they develop and flourish.

We have a beautiful and bright space with colorful carpets and tons of wall decor and educational posters. There are Montessori materials and stations where children can play dress up and explore through playing. We have organized bins of small toys, as well as large kitchen sets and art stations. Each child has their own cot, crib, and highchair and there's a separate room for infants.

We follow the play-based learning approach and Reggio Emilia teaching philosophy. We focus on letting children learn to be more independent and solve problems on their own. Each child knows the rules and knows about being held accountable for their own actions. We also engage them in educational activities such as writing, reading, numbers, shapes, craft activities, and arts. There are also worksheets that the kids take home every day. For infants, we work on tummy time as well as a busy board that encourages fine and gross motor. If weather permits, we bring children to our fenced backyard playground. In addition to English, we can also teach your child the Spanish language, however, please note that our daycare is not a bilingual program. We really appreciate parents that like to keep an open dialogue with us and work with us to get their child ahead for pre-k and kindergarten.

Lake Ridge Kids Playhouse is open all year from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. We offer full-time and part-time care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers up to 5 years old, including children with speech deficiency. Kids attending our program are provided with peanut-free and tree-nut free lunch and snacks, which are included in the tuition. For school-age kids up to 10 years old, we offer before and after school care (we’re close to Rockledge Elementary School, Old Bridge Elementary School, and Occoquan Elementary School).
