Spriggs Run Playhouse in Woodbridge, VA is a family child care and preschool program located in the Spriggs Run Estates neighborhood. This home daycare is right off Spriggs Rd and Minnieville Rd, only a few minutes drive from Dumfries Rd (route 234) and the I-95.

Hello parents! I'm the owner and lead teacher of this nurturing child care and early childhood education program. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and CPR & First-aid certifications. I also have experience since before opening my own licensed daycare, I used to do home tutoring and worked at 2 child care facilities. I'm also a mom of 2, so I have lots of first-hand child care experience with my own kids, and I can relate to your concerns when it comes to finding the best second home for your little one.

Spriggs Run Playhouse follows the play-based learning approach that allows children to learn through play. Our program also focuses on early academics and leadership, as well as socio-emotional development. We have lots of age-appropriate educational materials and toys, so kids are having fun while learning at the same time. They also love to participate in our cooking and gardening "extracurricular" activities. We have a large open space with bright colors, a library, a circle time area, and a separate nap room, and educational charts are posted everywhere. Our daycare has stations for learning, crafts, blocks, and dress-up that children can use during free play and structured learning time. We also engage our little students in yoga, board work, writing their ABCs, and reading books. If you want your children to learn a foreign language, we can teach him/her Farsi/Urdu in addition to English (however, please note that our daycare is not a bilingual program). I'm planning to hire another language teacher to come once or twice a week and possibly a Music teacher as well.

Our daycare and preschool is open year-round from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, however, standard rates cover only up to 8 hours of care per day. We can provide full-time and part-time care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers between the age of 3 months and 5 years old. For school-age kids up to 10 years old, we can offer before and after school care. Children attending full-time are served with lunch and snacks, which are already included in the tuition.

I know there are lots of home daycares available for you to choose from, but I've invested a lot in my facility: I have 2000 sq. ft. of space that is dedicated for the daycare, so there's enough space to maintain social distancing (children in the daycare are always at least 6 ft. apart). My child care facility is divided into different stations for children to engage in various activities. It includes: * infant center & play area * playground/indoor gym (which has a basketball, slide, bowling, etc.) * different learning stations (Reading, Math, Science, Art, etc.) * classroom, music center & library * homework area for 4 years old and above * nap room with cribs and changing table * cots for 2 years old and above * full kitchen in the basement that is dedicated for the daycare We also have open spacious windows throughout the basement, so children can get plenty of sunlight, which is a good source of Vitamin D to boost their immune system.
