Westover Baptist Preschool, Arlington

Westover Baptist Preschool offers a variety of classes for children ages 2 through 4. Two, three, and five-day programs are available. Classes begin at 9:15 and generally end at 1:15. A morning snack is provided; children provide their own lunch. The Westover Baptist Preschool and Parents' Day Out began as a cooperative service founded by the Baptist Woman's Missionary Union in 1971 as a way of providing healthy social and learning activities for their children. The women quickly realized that they had a mission in their own Arlington neighborhood. The mission remains the same today -- to provide for the social, cognitive, physical, emotional, and spiritual growth of children in an atmosphere of love and acceptance for all.

Spiritual growth is largely sensed in very young children and is affected by the type of care and nurture that surrounds the child. The preschool strives to provide an atmosphere of love and acceptance. Children are taught to pause a moment each day before snack or lunch to thank God for food, family, and friends. A monthly chapel time for older preschool children provides lessons of learning and wisdom gleaning from the Judeo-Christian heritage in an easily understood format. Parents are welcome to attend chapel time.
