We are excited that you have taken the time to learn more about Joy Kids Learning Center. Finding a place to care for your child is one of the most critical decisions you will make as a parent and we are honored that you are considering Joy Kids Learning Center as an option for your child care needs. Our goal at Joy Kids Learning Center is to provide a safe, loving environment in which Christian child care services can be provided to children from the ages of two to five years old for the Edgewater community.
We offer an educational program that utilizes developmentally appropriate practices that enhance the social, emotional, physical and intellectual development of each child. The college educated, certified teachers strive to create a fun, safe, respectful and Christian environment. We encourage parents to be actively involved in their child's education through volunteering at the center and participating in special events.
While our website can provide you with an array of information there is nothing that compares to actually visiting one of our Center's. We have two locations to serve you in Edgewater: 1133 Carrs Wharf Road or 35 Mayo Road. Both centers offer the same programming, which includes foreign language, music, and physical education.
PROGRAMMING
Joy Kids Learning Center LLC is concerned with the overall development of children. We believe the first five years of a child's life are very important and we are committed to ensuring your child gets the best possible Early Childhood Education. Upon entrance to our Center we will use the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ-3tm) to assess your child's development. This helps us ensure that we individualize our curriculum to meet your child's specific needs.
The InvestiGator Club curriculum is approved for use in preschool programs by the Maryland State Department of Education. We compliment our curriculum with additional programing like foreign language (Spanish), music, physical education, and a chapel program, offered through Joy Reigns Lutheran Church.
We also believe in helping our children learn to live a healthy life and that is why we have joined the Let's Move Childcare! program. This means that our children spend at least 1 to 2 hours outdoors each day; eat healthy snacks which include vegetables and fruit; drink healthy beverages throughout the day; and rececive no television time.
We feel confident that our program prepares children to enter elementary school.
