Art of Learning welcomes your child to a professionally landscaped home situated on approximately one acre of land; we have a beautifully appointed garden for children to take nature walks and enjoy the natural beauty of local wildlife and incredibly breath-taking plants and trees. All of this comes with privacy, multiple parks, and a focus on high-quality early childhood education in a home that has a warmly updated kitchen that produces daily meals (great-tasting and healthy) that fit your child's dietary and nutritional needs.
Philosophy:
During the early years, children need to be exposed to many activities that strengthen their large motor muscles. As babies, it begins with their neck and head control, and then they strengthen their legs and feet. As preschoolers, once body control is achieved, it’s great to work on throwing, running, climbing, etc.
Curriculum:
Art of Learning follows the Howard County School's Curriculum (Frog Street and Healthy Beginnings). We selected high-quality materials and manipulatives for infants and toddlers. Equipment, materials, and tools have been selected that are useful to a wide range of abilities and interests, also for special needs children.
Teachers work alongside kids to ensure that materials are used in healthy and safe ways while also making the learning experience fun and educational. All the materials are: Based on kids' interests, sturdy, age-appropriate, offer variety and choices, and arranged in such a way as to encourage independence and creativity.
Program:
Our daycare and preschool is open all year-round from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. We offer full-time and part-time care, as well as drop-in care for your occasional child care needs.
