Gingerbread Play House, Frederick

We could not be happier with our daughter's experience at Gingerbread Play House with Mrs. Leisha! E started here when she was 2 1/2 years old, and it was very hard to leave when Kindergarten started. The setting is just incredible and we knew they day we met Mrs. Leisha that this is where we wanted E to go, it just felt right! We were at ease when E was with Mrs. Leisha, knowing she was cared for, safe, and in a place that facilitates her needs, but most importantly, having fun. Mrs. Leisha focuses on learning through play. This is imperative for children of preschool age. There was never a complaint about the food. Mrs. Leisha was quick to learn everyone's favorite, serving them often, and renaming them after the children. Meal times were also served "family style", which is a great way to learn how to serve themselves, and feel involved with meals. Mrs. Leisha went out of her way to make E feel special on birthday's and other celebrated days. E always looked forward to party days, especially because she always brought home a treat bag and something "extra" like a balloon. Mrs. Leisha fostered E's independence and confidence, and she learned so much during her time there. Just the other night we were at the park and E told me that the cardinal we saw was a male because he was mostly red. I asked her how she knew that and she told me, "Mrs. Leisha taught me that, she taught me a lot". That statement confirmed that we made the right choice in child care! Mrs. Leisha will always be special to us and we will miss her dearly! She is truly wonderful and I can't say enough good things about her or Gingerbread Play House!

Leisha is a Godsend! My son is now 7 and stilllll asks if he can visit Gingerbread Playhouse! We shared 4 great years with Leisha’s daycare and can’t say enough about how wonderful her program is. She truly takes the time to get to know each child and ends up forming a true relationship with them. I’m praying she is still around when my now newborn reaches daycare age! Thanks, Leisha for everything!

I highly recommend Leisha's Gingerbread Play House! Leisha is extraordinarily dedicated to providing childcare of the highest quality in all respects. She is truly a FIND! Our daughter spent 2 years with Leisha and she had a great time from the outset! She learned how to socialize with others with proper manners, etc. and she received terrific developmental support educationally such that she excelled upon starting a high-performance private Kindergarten class. Leisha also goes above and beyond by communicating in a great way with parents, providing thoughtful evaluations, etc. You can't go wrong with Leisha!
