Grace Greenwell Family Child Care is a year-round home-based daycare in Shady Side, MD. Our family child care program is run by Grace Greenwell who has 10 years of child care experience. We are open Mon-Thur from 8:00am until 4:00pm and care for children as young as 6 weeks through 5 years old, including children with special needs. We offer preschool, as well as, both full time and part time child care, including drop in care. We also have summer camp. At a minimum, our teachers have a Bachelor's degree. Grace is one of the most organized, and well thought out mother's I know. She is absolutely consistent in her approaches which include: Structuring her home in a clean and safe way, while keeping developmentally appropriate and engaging toys and activities within reach of the children. She is gentle-natured, compassionate, and still firm in her approach. She seeks to provide and joyful and peaceful environment at all times, and is well educated on child development. I have trusted her with all of my children ages birth-15 over the years at different times, and have always felt that they were safe, secure and that Grace's nature and home are a healthy and nourishing influence for them. Truly a gifted mamma, and caregiver. Highly recommend her!

My two children attended this daycare. My oldest attended from ages 2 to 4 and my youngest attended as an infant. Both of their experiences were wonderful. My younger child came home with a daily log of her eating, sleeping and diaper routine whereas my oldest came home with a detailed list of activities from the day. These activities ranged from books read aloud to creative play to instructional opportunities involving numbers, letters and safety. Grace is a wonderful teacher as well as a patient individual who took wonderful care of my children and set safe and reasonable expectations. I would highly recommend her to anyone as a daycare provider.
