Nelly Paniagua Family Daycare, Silver Spring

I can’t say enough good things about this daycare. My son started with her at 4 months old and every morning he is so excited to see her. Great communication and wonderful curriculum where he gets to work on new skills through play. They love the children as if they are their own and really feel like an extension of family. So great to have a place I trust to have my baby at while I have to be at work.

This Child Care is absolutely wonderful! Her location is conveniently located near the Glenmont Metro. She has a wonderful backyard (with lots of outdoor toys) that the kids love to play in. She provides healthy meals. She sends daily pictures of your child at day care. I'm always so impressed by the variety of activities she has the kids work on (how she's able to get a group of toddlers to sit and independently flip through their books during "reading time" or play an instrument during is beyond me). More importantly, they love what they do and are incredibly caring toward the little ones. My son LOVES going to this daycare everyday. He was a premie and was slow to hit milestone before we started at this daycare but I truly saw him develop his language and motor skills much more rapidly once we started with her. I love that they speak both Spanish and English with the kids. I'm also impressed by the positive culture she has created among all the children. The older kids are so kind and helpful toward the little one. I know my son is learning language skills, motor skills, literacy skills, social- emotional skills and so much more.

We feel very fortunate that we found this daycare. As first time parents, we were very anxious about our baby starting daycare, particularly in a pandemic. This provider has been incredibly patient and receptive to our questions, and has always kept communication channels open. Our baby is loved and well taken care of, and he often doesn't want to go home when we come pick him up because he is having such a good time. His development and skill acquisition has greatly benefited from being at this daycare. He is eager to do what the older kids are doing in developmental terms (walking, talking, eating by himself), which has made our lives easier at home as well. In sum, this is an amazing place for the little ones!

Our son has been attending this daycare for 2 years, and could not be happier. He looks forward to going, and often talks about the providers, and the other children. We specifically chose this place for the Spanish speaking environment and our son understands and speaks in Spanish and English. The fact that the provider runs a small daycare out of her home is also very appealing. During our time taking our son there, the indoor play equipment has been updated and improvements to the fenced-in outdoor play area have been made. This daycare is a cheerful, inviting space to visit, and is not over crowded. They provide age appropriate activities, and gives all the kids a chance to interact together. We appreciate the home cooked meals that are provided, and the care and attention that the provider shows to our son.

Overall, this Family Child Care is great. My son has had a positive learning experience and has made friends that will last a lifetime. The staff is kind and gentle, and the environment is warm and inviting. I would recommend this daycare to anyone looking for a quality experience for their child.

I am grateful to have cake across this daycare center! This provider is truly great with my daughter. I was nervous at first because my little one had only been watched by me or immediate family but she has adapted so well. This provider provides a safe and clean environment, a great curriculum and amazing communication and flexibility. She sends me daily pictures and is overall heaven sent to us. Thanks to this provider!

This provider is a lifesaver! It was the first time that my one year old would be cared by someone other than myself, so I was very anxious about this transition. She is awesome, she is very kind with the kids, she truly cares about their well-being and is engaged with the parents. My son was well adjusted to his new environment in less than a week. It is great to feel peace of mind when leaving your child in daycare that he is well taken care of.
