Glenmont Park Playhouse, Silver Spring

Hi parents! I am a mother of 2 with over 32 years of child care experience, and I’m the owner of Glenmont Park Playhouse, in Silver Spring, MD. We are a small family-run child care program, and as the main caregiver, I am first-aid and CPR certified. I also hold a Child Development Associate’s Degree. Glenmont Park Children's House is near Glenmont Local Park, within walking distance of the Wheaton High School and Thomas Edison High School of Technology. I’m also less than a mile away from the Glenmont Metro Station!

We provide full-time and part-time daycare, and we’re open from 7:30am until 5:30pm. Our home daycare caters to infants (newborns), as well as toddlers up to 3 years old. I provide snacks to the children in my care, and we are a peanut and tree-nut free daycare. We offer a bilingual Spanish daycare (for parents who want a bilingual environment), and my program is accredited by the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC), which is not common for home daycares as it requires higher standards of quality.

We work with children from a young age to learn how to hold pencils and crayons so that they can learn fine motor skills and learn to trace and write. We have fun activities such as singing and dancing during circle time every morning. Children learn numbers, shapes, colors, etc. We have free play outside twice a day and we ensure to teach children kindness and manners, as well as not to bite and hit.
