The mission of the PEACEFUL PLAY CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER is to nurture, enable learning and provide a safe learning environment for children and families in a respectful, healthy, and playful setting. Our immersion program promotes diversity and the learning of Spanish as a second language.
Our goal is to provide high-quality care and education for young children in a non-discriminatory way.
Our philosophy is to provide a supportive environment in which children can develop their socio-emotional, physical, cognitive, and linguistics skills in a fun, caring, and positive form. So that we allow each one to learn at his/her own pace, while permitting children to learn through their daily play using the creative curriculum as a guide. PEACEFUL PLAY CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER uses the immersion program to teach children SPANISH as a second language; therefore, as the children go through their daily tasks, they automatically pick up the new language and correct grammar.
As a center of children from different backgrounds, we promote cultural diversity. We incorporate all the students' nutritional, physical and developmental needs into the creative curriculum and lesson plan so children will be included and will be active participants in their learning. It is essential to understand the children, as individuals with different needs and community members. Our role is to help children find their learning style and their potential. In Peaceful Play, we believe that children can reach their full potential when families are involved in their educational program. We have many opportunities for families to participate in the center's daily activities and the community.
In Peaceful Play CDC, we follow the creative curriculum approach. According to teaching strategies, the creative curriculum has five principles: teacher-child interactions and relationships, social-emotional competence, constructive and purposeful play, interacting with the environment, and partnerships with families.
The creative curriculum is an instructional model that focuses on the educators' developmentally appropriate practices for infants, toddlers, and preschool children. The Creative Curriculum is a comprehensive, research-based curriculum that features exploration and discovery as a way of learning, enabling children to develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical thinking skills.
The creative curriculum uses different formats, including small and large groups, choice time, and routines. The teachers choose the format that best works for their specific purpose.
In Peaceful Play CDC, we use the curriculum in our daily activities to support infants, toddlers, and preschoolers to have nurturing, consistent, and loving throughout the day experiences and to prepare older children for school. We offer individual and appropriate activities specifically designed to help the child grow and develop based on his/her skills and individual needs, addressing all areas of development.
We use the creative curriculum that includes new research and theory from early childhood education into a practical, easy-to-understand approach to working with children and their families. It is a comprehensive curriculum with a clear organizational structure and a particular focus on interest areas.
