About The Owner:
The owner and main caregiver of this intimate child care program is a licensed provider with CPR & First-aid certifications and an Associate's Degree in Geophysics. Before opening her daycare, she worked for another licensed facility.
Her passion and love for kids was the reason why she decided to start her own daycare. She wants to work with families in the area to help them nurture their kids and teach them to become lifelong learners.
Program:
Parkside Cozy Kids Corner is open year-round from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. She offers full-time and part-time care for children between the age of 1 month and 6 years old. She provides lunch and snacks to all kids attending her program, which are already included in the tuition. To prevent any possible allergies, she runs a peanut and tree-nut free environment.
She makes sure that her facility is clean and sanitized all the time to prevent kids from getting sick. They regularly wash their hands, and she cleans the diaper station, tables, and high chairs throughout the day.
Curriculum:
This daycare follows the play-based learning approach, allowing children to learn through play. In addition to English, the owner speaks Urdu and she can teach your child this foreign language upon request (however, it's not a bilingual or full immersion program). Baby sign language is part of her program for infants.
She teaches her little students good manners and how to identify and express their emotions. They have an activity where she teaches them different emotional expressions like happy, sad, angry, shy, etc. She also teaches them how to identify colors and shapes. After circle time, she reads them books and takes them outside for a walk if the weather is nice. She also has fun physical activities for the kids such as yoga and dancing.
