About Me
Welcome to Seminary Rd Children's Place, my home daycare in Alexandria! I’m the owner and the main caregiver of this small family child care and preschool program.
I have 5 years of experience caring for children 6 weeks to 12 years old, and I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. I also have my CPR/First-aid certifications but most importantly, I’m a mother of a young baby myself. So I know how parents feel about finding the right daycare! My goal is to provide safe and quality child care, at affordable rates for families.
We offer full-time and part-time daycare for infants as young as 6 weeks old. We have a preschool program, and also offer before and after school care for kids up to 12 years old (the closest school is John Adams Elementary School.) We are a peanut-free and tree-nut free daycare, and snacks are included in the tuition.
Curriculum & Program
I not only provide safe child care for your baby, but also provide a quality early learning environment toddlers and preschoolers, through 5 years old. My little students will be learning the basics such as ABCs, counting, shapes, and colors.
We also have daily story time, nap time, music time, arts and crafts, and of course, lots of individual attention and interaction. Activities will be tailored to their age and we also use technology (computer and tablets) as a learning tool. I read books to babies, sing songs for them, and we practice tummy time. For older kids, we follow the play-based approach, which allows them to learn through play. Weather permitting, children will also play in our fenced yard which has slides, swings and other fun toys!
Seminary Rd Children's Place is open from 8am to 6pm, Monday through Friday. If you have particular needs, I can may be flexible, please ask. Our family loves both main care providers. The best review comes from our daughter who can’t wait to daycare. She always runs up to the door when we arrive. The place is clean, and the instructors care which is all I can hope for in younger childcare. The range of ages there is beneficial for everyone as they all learn from each other.

As a first time mom, the idea of leaving my daughter at 3.5mo with anyone other than me was soul crushing (as it is for so many). Our son started attending here at 4 months old and he has loved every day (he is now 21 months old). The teachers clearly love the children they care for and our son has thrived here. They are more than just childcare providers, they are like an extended family. What a wonderful daycare located near Bailey’s Crossroads in Alexandria, VA. It was super convenient having a Target, Trader Joe’s, and Giant around the corner in case we needed to pick up provisions e.g. diapers, wipes. This provider's practice gave us exactly what we needed for our newborn daughter - a very safe and loving place. The provider and her staff were very friendly, communicative, and always in-the-know. We developed a great friendship over the years. If we're lucky enough to have another child we would send them to this provider!

The provider and her awesome assistants do a wonderful job with all the children in their care. They are loving and attentive. Although theres not a formal curriculum (which I actually prefer at such a young age) the kids learn all day through play and are all so close to each other. Great daycare and provider. This provider has created a nurturing environment for the kids. I always feel that my kids are well taken care of, and they love going. This provider engages them in numerous activities like crafts and sensory play. She also has a music teacher come in regularly which my kids love. Overall I am very happy with the daycare.

This provider runs a fantastic daycare. Our daughter started when she was six months old and has been with this provider over a year. This provider and her staff provide a loving, safe and nurturing home away from home for the young ones. The ambiance is child centered and the setting is family oriented. My kids love going to daycare with this provider. I throughly they'd have a tough transition since I was a stay at home mom, but my daughter never cried and is excited to go in the morning! It makes going back to work much easier knowing the kids are happy and being well cared for.
