Hayfield Children’s Playhouse is a home-based daycare and preschool in Alexandria, VA. My child care facility is located right off Hayfield Rd and Telegraph Rd (VA route 611), near Hayfield Elementary School. Whether you’re looking for infant care, toddler care, or preschool, I’ve designed each program to meet the developmental needs of your child, no matter their age. I offer both full-time and part-time care for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. My hours of operation are from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, providing flexible options for working parents. I understand how busy life can be, so I strive to offer a schedule that can accommodate most families, and offer a home-like environment! We provide lunch and snacks, all of which are peanut-free and tree-nut free, and included in the tuition. I strive to create an environment that’s inclusive to all children, including those with special needs or Autism. Every child deserves the chance to grow and learn, and I’m committed to making that happen (please inquire to ensure I can accommodate).

As a mom of two myself, I know firsthand how important it is to find the right child care provider who not only understands your child’s needs but also has the experience and compassion to care for them like you would. With an associate’s degree in nursing and certifications in C.P.R. and First Aid, your child's safety is always my top priority. Because I never sent my own kids to daycare, I personally understand what many parents are going through. Before opening my in-home daycare, I spent 11 years working as a nursing assistant for adults, which taught me how to be patient, attentive, and responsive to individual needs. I’m here to offer peace of mind and to create an environment where your child will feel loved and supported, just like at home. I believe that every child is unique, and that’s why I make it a point to work closely with parents to understand their specific needs.

At Hayfield Children’s Playhouse, I use a play-based teaching philosophy that encourages creativity, exploration, and hands-on learning. My goal is to prepare your child for preschool and kindergarten while making sure they enjoy every step of the journey. For younger children like infants and toddlers, the focus is on sensory activities, social interaction, and building confidence in a warm and loving environment. As children grow into preschoolers, I introduce more structured activities like proactive writing and reading to give them a head start in school readiness. We do plenty of arts and crafts, to develop fine motor skills but also encourage kids to think outside the box. I believe in teaching through fun, and my motherly approach means I treat every child like they’re my own. Here, your little one will feel comfortable, supported, and inspired to learn!
