Wedgewood Early Learning Academy, Annandale

Welcome to Wedgewood Early Learning Academy, our daycare center and preschool in Annandale, VA. Our child care facility is right off Little River Turnpike (between Accotink Heights and Annandale Terrace), just a minute drive from Columbia Pike and the I-495.

I’m the owner of this high-quality child care and early childhood education program. I’m a mom of 2 with 30 years of professional experience as a child care provider. Our teachers are experienced and have undergone all the required state classes and training. We are also CPR & First-aid certified, so you can be sure that your little one is safe at all times. My team is dedicated to providing nurturing care and quality early education in a loving, fun, and safe learning environment. We work to stay in constant communication with parents and work together to provide the needed guidance and support for their child's growth and development.

We follow the Mother Goose curriculum and the play-based teaching philosophy. Our curriculum focuses on developing each child’s socio-emotional, physical, and cognitive skills. We recognize that each child is unique in their own way, and thus provide individualized attention and activities, tailored to their specific needs. Infants: This is the most important stage of a child’s life. This is the part where they are exploring the world around them through their five senses. Our caregivers are dedicated to providing nurturing care as they understand how crucial this stage is. They engage babies in different stimulating activities to promote learning and develop their valuable skills. Toddlers: At this stage, children develop gross motor and social skills. Our teachers also engage them in fun, educational activities such as music, stories, and outdoor/physical activities. We give parents a daily report to update them about their child’s meal times, nap times, activities, etc. Preschool: Preschoolers are introduced to different problem-solving activities. Our teachers expose them to different learning materials and math concepts activities to enhance their problem-solving skills at an early age. We also help our little students to enhance their creativity and self-expression through art projects.

Wedgewood Early Learning Academy is open all year-round from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. We provide full-time care for infants as young as 2 months, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 6 years old. All children attending our program are served with peanut and tree-nut free lunch and snacks (already included in the tuition).
