Hi parents! I’m the owner of this daycare which prides itself in offering high-quality care and early childhood education. I’m a professional caregiver with 17 years of experience and I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I run the program with my 2 assistants and they have 30 years of combined experience. We’re all CPR and First-aid certified, as well as MAT trained so we can administer medication to all kids in our care. As a mom of 2, I can certainly relate to your needs and concerns when it comes to finding safe child care for your loved one. We strive to create a warm and stimulating learning environment where children can grow and reach their full potential. At our daycare, each child receives plenty of individualized attention and we treat them as if they were our own.

We believe that play is critically important in early childhood as it promotes socio-emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Through play, children also use their creativity and they discover and explore new things. Our dedicated teachers guide them toward love for learning and help them become lifelong learners. And most importantly, play is fun and enjoyable :)

Ashburton Schoolhouse follows the Play-based early learning approach and uses Montessori principles. We engage our young students in fun educational activities, such as reading books, drawing, listening to music, dressing up, and outdoor activities. Our daycare has different stations for playing, feeding, and napping. We have a sunroom that has access to our private backyard playground equipped with toys, slides, swings, etc. We also teach more academic lessons and engage in arts where kids participate in creative projects, drama class where they dress up and act out their favorite stories, listen to music that makes them happy, learn math and science, etc. By the time children leave, they know numbers, shapes, and letters, and some are even reading. Our daycare offers a variety of toys, books, puzzles, and art supplies. Sports are also part of our program for their physical well-being and to help build their self-confidence. We ensure children are independent and have good manners. In addition to English, we can also teach your child French and Hindi. Although our daycare is not a bilingual program, this is still a good opportunity for your little one to be exposed to foreign languages and possibly even become multilingual at a young age!

Ashburton Schoolhouse is open all year Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:45 pm, but if you have to commute to Washington DC, you can drop off your child at 7:45 am. We offer various flexible child care options to accommodate your needs, such as full-time, part-time, and drop-in care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers between the age of 6 weeks and 5 years old. We can also accommodate school-age kids and provide before and after school care (our home is close to Wyngate Elementary School). All kids attending our program are provided with snacks and they are already included in the tuition.

Our home-based daycare and preschool is nestled in the Ashburton neighborhood in Bethesda, MD. We’re less than 5 minutes’ away from Fernwood Rd and Old Georgetown Rd (route 187) and have easy access to the Capital Beltway (I-495) and Bradley Blvd (route 191). Perfect for your daily commute to work!
