The Burbank Unified School District’s, Horace Mann Children’s Center provides programs that are tailored to serve a wide variety of developmental needs. This quality program is designed to serve infant’s, toddler and preschool with an emphasis on their cognitive, social, emotional and physical development. The stimulating environment encourages children to develop self-discipline and self-control. One of our preschool classrooms is a LAUP- Los Universal Preschool.
Children learn through play. Children are allowed to make choices and act on them. The staff acts as guides extending their learning and encouraging them to discover new skills and concepts. Children are given many opportunities to increase their knowledge and development. The programs and activities recognize individual differences of ability, language and culture and utilize age appropriate learning activities to ensure success and achievement in their education. Horace Mann Children’s Center uses the California Curriculum Framework and the Reggio Emilia Inspired Approach to give children a wide variety of learning experiences.
