About

For more than 30 years, parents in the Des Plaines and Park Ridge communities have relied on the excellent child care and education provided by the Des Plaines Child Development Center. Our center has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) since 1992. Our program includes 10 spacious classrooms comprising of 25,000 square feet and offers a stimulating environment that encourages exploration and learning. Individualized Learning Our experienced staff customize each child’s curriculum based on their individual strengths and temperament, through observations and formal assessments. Utilizing the Creative Curriculum method, we foster each child’s developmental growth and encourage creative expression. Healthy Lifestyles We incorporate a Healthy Lifestyles curriculum that emphasizes nutrition, exercise and protecting the environment. Parents, teachers and children cultivate an annual flower and vegetable garden to encourage healthy eating habits. Teachers also discuss the importance of regularly visiting the doctor and dentist, hearing and vision screenings and using proper safety gear.
