Welcome to Emory Grove Playhouse, a licensed home-based daycare and preschool in Gaithersburg, MD. This facility offers quality child care and early education at an affordable rate. They strive to create a learning space where children feel safe, comfortable, and loved!
Curriculum
Emory Grove Playhouse uses its own curriculum focusing on reading and writing and follows the Play-based teaching philosophy – allowing children to learn through play and through fun, age-appropriate, educational activities. They also have a separate curriculum for infants that works specifically on sensory, motor, and speech development skills.
Caregivers teach their little students to be confident and independent and prepare them for kindergarten, and they are always above grade level when they enter kindergarten!
The daycare has lots of engaging activities such as Letters, Matching Numbers, Reading, Writing, Arts & Crafts, Outdoor Adventures, Music and much more! They also have a wide variety of learning materials and toys. This family child care program has a fenced backyard where children can spend time playing outdoors in the morning and afternoon (of course, weather permitting).
The safety of every child is one of our top priorities, and our advanced curriculum works with parents' individual needs.
About The Staff
The owner and main caregiver is a professional child care provider with 14 years of experience. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and is CPR & First-aid certified, as well as M.A.T trained (so if needed, she can administer over-the-counter and prescription medication).
Program
This home daycare program is open year-round from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. They provide full-time and part-time care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers between the age of 6 weeks and 5 years old.
They can also accommodate before and after school care for school-age kids, up to 12 years old (the home is close to Flower Hill Elementary School and Strawberry Knoll Elementary School).
To make sure kids are always safe and free from any infectious diseases, I always sanitize surfaces, and clean toys and tables at the end of the day.
Location
Emory Grove Playhouse is located near Emory Grove Rd and Washington Grove Ln, in the Emory Grove neighborhood of Gaithersburg, MD. They are right off Woodfield Rd and Midcounty Hwy, near Johnson’s Local Park. Your day-to-day commute will be convenient since they are also a few minutes' drive away from Frederick Rd (route 355)

My son has been going to this daycare since he was 3 months old.
She is the best! very communicative, attentive, and caring.
My son is almost 7 months old now and has already achieved so many developmental milestone ahead of his schedule (sitting, standing). he always has a huge smile when I drop him off.
I would recommend her 1000x times over.

We love her and the amazing care she provides our son! My son has learned so much in his time at the daycare, always coming home with different activities and crafts they’ve worked on. She provides a safe and loving environment to the kids enrolled, I would highly recommend Meeli!

This provider has been such an amazing teacher and care taker for my toddler. He has been there since he was 4 months old and has learned so much! He is so excited to see her everyday and has nothing but laughter and smiles when we pick him up at the end of the day. She keeps a highly organized, clean, and friendly space. I have recommended her to neighbors and would continue to highly recommend her!

We started with this caregiver in October 2023. She is kind, welcoming and nurturing. My timid 2 year old immediately took to her which is not typical for him. Both of my kids are learning so much. Her communication is amazing. The center is clean, organized and spacious. She has a great vision for her program and has recently made updates with a new fence and patio area. I highly recommend her.

I feel safe and at peace of mind dropping my son there. This provider is flexible. It does help me due to my health issue and my son sleeping on his own schedule. Believe me, the pediatricians and I tried, we gave up!

I rarely leave reviews but Im compelled to here. This provider is nothing short of amazing, loving, trustworthy and professional. She has helped my 3 yr old get potty trained and articulate his thoughts and has helped my 1 yr old take his first steps. I absolutely adore her and am so happy, carelulu helped us find each other. This review is more of an update. My two boys go to this daycare. We love it here. The younger one has learnt so much, he is already reading words at 3 years old. The older child, who is 4 is already reading at a first grade level. This provider is absolutely awesome. We cannot say enough good things. We would recommend this daycare to any parent.

The kids loved going to this daycare - we moved otherwise the kids would still be there.

My daughter has attended this daycare since she was about 1 year old. She's starting Kindergarten this fall and is more than ready. The owner provides an excellent and enriching environment. I am so impressed by the things my daughter has learned under her care and strongly recommend her.
