About Me:
Dear parents, welcome to Muddy Branch Children's House, in Gaithersburg! As a mother of 3, I know that it is important to care for each child as if they were my own. My goal is to build trust with parents so they feel comfortable, making my home daycare an extension of their family.
I have 35 years of child care experience and I have helped raise over 100 children! I started my own daycare back in 1991 so that I could stay home while my kids were young. Since day one, my goal has been to provide the most loving, caring and comfortable daycare for your child. The children in my care engage in social and intellectual activities to stimulate their minds.
Program:
Our family child care program is open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. We offer full-time care for children as young as 8 weeks, as well as before and after school care for children up to 12 year old. We provide breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack, and I cook healthy food everyday using organic ingredients. Parents are also welcome to bring their own food.
Muddy Branch Children's House in Gaithersburg, MD is licensed, and I have followed a number of classes including CPR, First Aid (American Heart Association Heartsaver), Emergency and Disaster, Language Development in Infants, Health, Safety and Nutrition, Medication Administration and more! My assistants are also CPR and First-Aid certified, ensuring the safest environment for your child.
Curriculum:
We use a Montessori-inspired curriculum that includes free play, story-time, music, dancing, arts & crafts, ABCs, and many educational activities. We keep our students' arts & crafts projects and daily activities in a binder.
Our curriculum also focuses on fine and gross motor skills development: we start teaching children to reach for things and to write after 12 months. We work on developing motor skills so they become comfortable with holding pencils, crayons, as well as spoons and forks. Because of our comprehensive curriculum, I'm very proud of how advanced our students are!
We have a great space with foam puzzle mats and wall decor, and it is furnished well. There's a lot of open space and large activity sets as well as small toys for younger children.
Safety:
The safety and security of the children in our care is one of our top priorities, especially during this pandemic. Our COVID-safety procedures include washing hands in between activities, lunch, and bathroom breaks. We also take temperatures at drop-off and at pickup, sanitize all toys at the end of the day, and rotate toys throughout the day. We also have foot covers and a sanitizer station at the front door for any guests that enter the house.
Location:
We are located between Muddy Branch and Green Park in Gaithersburg, MD (not far from Target at the intersection of I-270 and I-370). Please call or email to schedule a visit, we look forward to meeting you and your child!
