About

I believe young children learn in many ways. Some may need to have the number they are learning in front of them while you say it out aloud, others may need that plus something representing that number, so the child can see it as well as hear and be able to touch and feel something. I believe my role is to observe what best way a child learns and find a way to add that in my lesson plans to them and other children. Also, to go the extra mile to make sure I am reaching each childs needs. Other important aspects of my role in the lives of children and their families is to encourage, listen, respect and be able to enlighten them. It is important to listen to parents concerns, respect what they are saying and have positive body language while talking to them, and in some cases enlighten them on different things to encourage them that it is okay, and we are in this together. A lot of parents want to talk to the person caring for their children and it is good to listen to them, they know their child best. Some of my greatest areas of strength as an early childhood professional are: I am open-minded to new ideas, very flexible on the ways I do things, patient towards others, calm when faced with difficulties situations and helpful and kind. If I learn are see a new way that can help me teach something to the children since my mind is open I will try it and if need be make it easier for children to understand. I learned while going back to school to get my diploma as an adult people had to be this way towards me. Due to it was hard for me to catch on to a lot of things. I think these areas will make it easy for parents to talk to me, keeping an opened-mind will help me help families learn what has been working for their child in the past and I can add it to my teaching.
