GLAK Policies and Procedures During COVID-19
Genesis Learning Academy of Kennesaw have established policies and procedures since the
effect of COVID-19. We have additional state rules that we must follow and maintain to be
open. The policies are as follows:
o We are routinely disinfecting all high impact areas, sanitizing toys and anything that comes in
contact with our children.
o Children/Staff with a fever of 100.4 or higher should stay home, consult a doctor, and return
to work/school with a doctors note.
o Those who are coughing, have a runny nose will be sent home, consult doctor, and return
with a doctors note.
o We are doing Curbside Drop-Off and Pick-Up. Parents must have children unstrapped and
ready to depart from their vehicles.
o Staff and visitors must always wear a mask (the center also provides masks for those who
are in need to stay safe)
o Toys, blankets, outside food and sippy cups will not be allowed in the center.
o Parents are to remain in their vehicles and stay 6 feet from front door.
o Visitors must schedule an appointment with a member of management, temperatures are
taken and proper handwashing before meeting with children, staff, and/or management
o Temperature checks of all children and staff are taken 3 times a day (upon drop-off, after
naptime, and upon departure)
PHILOSOPHY
Genesis Learning Academy of Kennesaw is committed to providing a nurturing environment for a
young child's optimum growth and development. We offer a stimulating age appropriate curriculum
including physical, social, intellectual and emotional development. Children need the freedom to
experience emotions; happy, anxious, sad, or angry and to know others feel this way too. In order to
be in touch with the world around them, children need to be in touch with their own feelings. They
will develop an awareness of the world around them and the ability to relate to others. Through
positive relationships, creative play, and active manipulation of their environment. Children will
develop a positive self-image. Genesis Learning Academy of Kennesaw believes that children are our most precious resource. Their
innate goodness and sense of wonder, nurtured by our play based and stimulating curriculum will
promote the development of confident, cooperative and self-directed individual.
THE STAFF OF GENESIS LEARNING ACADEMY OF KENNESAW
Our teachers come from diverse backgrounds in both education and experience. They provide a
loving and nurturing environment in which your child's self-esteem and highest potential can be
fostered. Continuing education is a vital part of a teacher's professional growth; thus a vital part of our
program. We require our teachers to attend a minimum often hours per year of workshops and/or
classes in early childhood education. We also provide in-house training on a regular base
ENROLLMENT
Genesis Learning Academy of Kennesaw offers a wide range of class schedules to accommodate
your needs. We accept ages 6 weeks to 12 years. We are open January through December,
Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 7:00pm. We are closed on the following Holidays: New
Years Day, Martin Luther King, Jr Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving Day and the day After Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. Depending on what day
of the week Christmas Day falls, the center is subject to be closed the week of Christmas. Please
check with Management for these closings.
Registration Fee, and the first weeks tuition is due upon enrollment. Registration is
Non-refundable. Two weeks notice is required in the event of vacation or cancellation of
Services. In order for your child to make continued progress, it is recommended for all students
to have regular attendance. Absences should be for illnesses and emergencies only.
Curriculum
Our goal is to faster the development of the whole child. In order to accomplish this, we focus on
three important areas of growth: Social Development, Emotional Development and Physical
Development. We use two curriculums to promote the above goals. Creative Curriculum, Preschool Palace,
which is a locally developed curriculum is used for our infants, toddlers, two year old and three
year old, Creative Curriculum is used for our GA Pre-K children. Both when taught properly are age
appropriate learning tools that promote the development of the whole child.
