About
Our History
Johnson-Flores Family Day Care was established in October 2004 to help families that need reliable childcare. We were located on La Puente CA 91744. On November 2005, the State of California upgraded our family day care from 8 children to 14 children. Our license is for either 12 with no more than four infants or 14 children when at least two of them are 6 years of age and a maximum of 3 infants. The idea to open a Day Care arose from observing friend and family struggling to find reliable and trustworthy childcare. We saw how the current economic and social conditions, as well as parent careers, sometimes did not allow a more traditional role for mothers to stay home. Yet children still need to be surrounded by love and quality interaction.
As we observed children enrolled in our daycare growing from small babies to active toddlers, we expanded our program to include many stimulating activities to encourage learning. In these years we also had five special needs children who developed social skills with other children. Courtesy and acceptance of others are values that we believe in and teach.
The Director attended Mt. San Antonio College where she acquired skills to work with children more efficiently. Now she is a Bachelor Business Admin Teacher and Site Director for Title 22. She obtained her Bachelor Teacher’s in 2015 and has License Business Administration in El Salvador in 1999. Also In June 2007, we became part of the Option Child Care Program. The Director and assistants continue to attend workshops regularly. With this educational background and 13 years of experience, Johnson-Flores Family Day Care has become an important link between home and school for young children as well as an enrichment program for before and after school. We work every day to meet our children and families needs and getting involved in our community for the benefit of our families.
