At Kidzälat, we believe that parents should be able to work and not have to sacrifice the values they wish to instill in their children. We have an infant room and a toddler room (16-24 months). Our infant classroom is set up for non mobile infants - those too young to sit up and those sitting but not yet strong enough to crawl; and mobile infants (crawlers and walkers) who are too young for the toddler room. The toddler room is a transition room between infant and turning two. The toddlers have different motor skill development needs, their communication skills are developing more rapidly, they are more self-aware and can be more assertive.
For the before and after school age children, we've created an "after school club" we refer to this as The Clubhouse. This creates an added sense of belonging to a group/club. The Clubhouse is for the kids to kick-back after school, do their homework, socialize, and have fun. We will break into small groups by age and on some days by gender. We will engage in age appropriate discussions after school about how their day went, discuss any issues that may have come up during the day at school.
