About

The Child Development Center (CDC) at Edenton Street Church is an outreach ministry with a purpose to provide working parents high-quality child care and a comprehensive child development program for two through five-year-old children. We maintain a high standard of early childhood education and believe we provide the highest quality of childcare in the downtown area. We aim to develop the whole child socially, individually, cognitively, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. We promote learning in a safe, loving, and healthful environment by forming a family of children, parents, professional staff, and alumni. Building on our historical beginnings, the center is committed to serving children from a variety of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds, and to cultivate its strength through diversity. We are very proud of the commitment the CDC teachers have shown to the children and families that we serve. The longevity of our staff speaks volumes about their commitment to early childhood education. The average length of service for our teachers is 18 years. We currently have one teacher that has been employed by the CDC for over 35 years! Scholarships are offered, when available, for families with qualifying financial need. The Child Development Center is licensed by the North Carolina Division of Child Development and has a 5-Star Rating. Our hours of operation are 7:15 AM until 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and we operate year round.
Disclaimer: the licensing status was checked when this listing was created. We do our best to keep information up-to-date, but cannot guarantee that it is. You should verify the license/permit/registration status before enrolling in any child care program.

They did an excellent job in preparing my child for Kindergarten. I didn't realize until she got to K just how much ahead she was and how much she learned at CDC. The most important thing about CDC that I love is that I had peace of mind when my child... more
