The mission of the VCU Child Development Center (CDC) is to provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate care and education for the children of VCU faculty, staff, students and the community. We strive to serve as a model and resource to families, students and the community, and support healthy and professional relationships.
Founded upon the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Code of Ethical Conduct, it is our responsibility to provide high-quality early childhood care and education to children in a safe, healthy, nurturing and responsive environment. As we strive to develop the whole child, we commit to a partnership with families that will address the intellectual, social, emotional and physical needs of the child. To achieve these goals, we must establish strong relationships with each other and the community to meet the diverse needs of the children and families we serve.
