OPENINGS: We are full at this time.
Welcome to Burnt Mills Kiddie Cove, my licensed in-home daycare and preschool in Silver Spring, MD. I’m located in the Burnt Mills Manor neighborhood, right off Columbia Pike (US-29). Your commute to work will surely be convenient since I’m only a 5 minutes’ drive away from major roads New Hampshire Ave (route 650) and University Blvd W (route 193).
About Me:
I’m the owner and main caregiver of this nurturing family and high-quality child care and early education program. I’ve been in this industry for 14 years, so you can be sure that your little one is safe with me. Before opening my own daycare, I was a nanny/babysitter in Greece for 4 years before moving here in the US in 1988.
Like you, I’m also a mom, so I can certainly relate to your concerns when it comes to finding the best second home for your child. At my daycare, I treat all children as if they were my own, and I strive to create a safe and nurturing environment for them where they can learn and grow, and feel loved.
Program Information:
My daycare is open all year-round from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. I provide full-time and part-time care for infants as young as 3 months, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old. All kids attending my program are served with lunch and snacks, which are both included in the tuition.
Burnt Mills Kiddie Cove follows the Play-based learning approach with fun extra-curricular activities, such as painting, dancing, and singing. Our young students explore colors, numbers, weather, days of the week, seasons, and animals. Depending on their age, toddlers and preschoolers practice coloring, learning how to trace letters in order to spell words, as well as writing their name. Children also go outside to stay active; and once back inside, they have free play with blocks, puzzles, and toys.
Learning Environment:
Our child care space offers a safe learning environment, with bright foam mats and great lighting. We have age-appropriate toys for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Older children have larger activity sets and babies have smaller toys such as music sets and handheld learning toys. Our walls are painted in bright colors and well decorated to create a happy environment. We also have a circle time center to read books when children arrive, and before nap time.
In light of current circumstances, COVID procedures include regular sanitization as well as handwashing when children arrive and in between activities and lunch. When the children wake up from a nap, we wash our faces and hands before we play. Toys are cleaned with a sanitizing spray solution that is less harmful to children than bleach.
