Edgewood Children's Den, Silver Spring

Edgewood Children's Den is a licensed home daycare and preschool in Silver Spring, MD. This daycare is located off Edgewood Ave, in the Forest Knolls neighborhood, near Forest Knolls Elementary School. They are conveniently located for your daily commute since they are just a 5 minutes’ drive from University Blvd W (route 193) and Colesville Rd (US-29).

The owner and main caregiver of this family child care and early childhood education program is a licensed provider with years of experience in the field. Before opening her own daycare, she worked as a child care assistant for another licensed child care facility. As a mom, she has first-hand experience raising her own kids and she will be able to relate to your child care needs and concerns. The facility is intimate, and she’s also CRP & First-aid certified, so can be sure that your child is in safe hands with her.

Edgewood Children's Den uses the play-based early learning philosophy combined with academic activities, such as reading and writing. They make sure to prepare their little students for kindergarten. If you want, the owner can also teach your child Amharic in addition to English (though this is not a bilingual program). They are open all year from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. They offer full-time and part-time care for newborn babies, toddlers, and preschoolers up to 5 years old. Peanut-free and tree-nut free snacks are provided to all the children in their care, and are already included in the tuition.
