Montgomery Knolls Kids Playhouse is a licensed home-based daycare and preschool in Silver Spring, MD. My child care facility is in the Montgomery Knolls neighborhood, right off University Blvd E (route 193), near New Hampshire Estates Elementary School. My home is very accessible since I’m close to all major roads, such as Piney Branch Rd (route 320), New Hampshire Ave (route 650), and Capital Beltway (I-495).
About Me:
Hi, parents! I’m the owner and main caregiver of this safe, intimate, and nurturing child care and preschool program. I’m a mom of 3 with a Bachelor's Degree in Law and CPR & First-aid certifications. If needed, I can administer medication to all kids in my care since I’m M.A.T trained. I consider myself a successful early childhood provider/caregiver and will continue to grow my skills and knowledge in working with young children by continually renewing my CDA (Child Development Associate's degree).
I have chosen to work with young children because I want to help them learn in each stage of development. The main theme of my approach is to work with children and their families through my Christian faith. The most important thing I can do as a caregiver is to “Train up a child in the way he should go and in keeping with his individual gift and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Beyond teaching and learning, I see my role in supporting the growth and development of children as important because without the support they need in their learning environment, children struggle in life and I believe that they shouldn't have to.
Philosophy:
The early childhood period of development is special because from birth to age five the children are learning exciting things for each stage of their lives. I believe that they develop and learn best in a loving, nurturing, empathetic, calm, understanding, safe, fun, and healthy environment. For me, the most valuable aspect of early childhood education is their mental, physical and social learning environment.
I will learn from the children while also teaching them because children can show you things that you wouldn't even think of and they will surprise you everyday with what they know and have learned.
Program:
Montgomery Knolls Kids Playhouse is open all year-round from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. I offer a Play-based program and engage my students in fun, educational activities like reading books with them and teaching them shapes, colors, letters, math, and science.
Our daily schedule includes dedicated time for art, circle time, and outdoor play. I can accommodate full-time and part-time care for infants as young as 4 weeks, as well as toddlers through preschoolers up to 5 years old. By the time they leave our program, children can count to 100 and have a solid foundation for kindergarten.
Morning and afternoon snacks are provided to all kids attending my program (included in the tuition). I also run a peanut and tree-nut free environment to prevent any possible allergies. To prevent the spread of any type of disease caused by bacteria and viruses, I clean tables and chairs after lunch and sanitize carpets at the end of the day.
Please contact us through CareLuLu. I can’t wait to meet your family in person :)
