Oakview Cozy Playhouse, Silver Spring

Hi, parents! I am a mother of 2 with 17 years of child care experience and I am the owner of Oakview Cozy Playhouse, a home daycare in Silver Spring. I hold a Child Development Associate's degree and I am also CPR and first-aid certified. I also have my Medical Administration Training so I can administer medication to the children in my care.

My program for toddlers consists of fun activities, such as circle time, painting, coloring, and playing outside in my private playground. For infants, we practice tummy time, I read books to them, play music, and sing songs. My daycare has colorful walls with different educational posters and wall decor that are inviting to children. I have a variety of toys and playsets for both infants and toddlers.

My family daycare program is open between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. I offer full-time child care and preschool, as well as part-time daycare for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers (between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years old). I also provide before and after school care for school-age children up to 12 years old, and can also offer drop-in care if you only have occasional needs. My daycare is open in the summer as well and I run a fun summer camp program for your kids. I provide lunch and snacks (included in the tuition) and offer a peanut and tree-nut environment. In addition to English, I also speak Amharic and can expose your child to a foreign language if you’d like (however, we are not a bilingual daycare or language immersion daycare).

Oakview Cozy Playhouse is located in the Oakview neighborhood in Silver Spring, MD. My home is right off Oakview Drive, just a minute away from the I-495 and New Hampshire Ave. We're also within walking distance of the Roscoe Nix Elementary School.
