Calverton Children's Place, Silver Spring

Calverton Children's Place is a licensed in-home daycare and preschool in Silver Spring, MD. My child care facility is in the Calverton neighborhood, right off Cherry Hill Rd and Calverton Blvd. I'm conveniently located for your commute to work since I'm not far from major roads such as Columbia Pike (US-29), Powder Mill Rd (route 212), and the I-95.

I'm the owner and main caregiver of this nurturing child care and early childhood education program. Like you, I'm a parent myself, and I have 6 years of professional experience. I ran a small school for 5 years in my home country before I moved to the US. My passion is teaching children, so I worked in a child care center in Ellicott for one year before I decided to open my own licensed daycare. In addition to my child care credentials, I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and CPR & First-aid certifications. I also finished many training sessions including infant and toddler training.

Calverton Children's Place uses the InvestiGator Club Curriculum, which is a combination of the creative curriculum and offers age-appropriate activities. We build upon children's natural curiosity and use science and stories to encourage language, cognitive, physical, and social-emotional growth. I also use the Early Beginnings curriculum for toddlers, and I do sensory activities, reading books, and other developmental activities with infants. I want my toddler students to be independent and focused on emotional wellness. My daycare offers a great space for learning and has toys for each age. I also offer lots of fun and educational extracurricular activities such as gardening, arts & crafts, baking, and cooking. Upon your request, I can teach your little one the Yoruba language in addition to English. My daycare has a private playground where we can spend our outdoor playtime (of course, weather permitting).

I'm open all throughout the year from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. I provide full-time and part-time care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers between the age of 4 weeks and 5 years old. I serve peanut and tree-nut free snacks to all children attending my program. For school-age kids up to 12 years old, I offer before and after school care (my home is close to Calverton Elementary School and Galway Elementary School).

The health and safety of everyone are also my top priority. I want my kids to be in a clean environment while learning and give parents peace of mind that their kids are safe all the time. I'm sanitizing throughout the day, and I have a separate toy bin for toys that have been touched or played with.
