About Me:
I’m the owner of this child care facility as well as the main caregiver and teacher. Like you, I’m also a parent (a mother to 3 children). I’m CPR and First certified so you can be sure that your little one is safe with me at all times.
I decided to work with children because it provides me with the opportunity to develop a new purpose each day. I also believe that while working with children, every single second of every single day will shape me to grow as a teacher, but also as a person.
Philosophy:
Children are like a fountain of joy. I can never get enough of their lovely innocent quality combinations of characteristics, their honesty, genuineness, and sincerity. They are so vulnerable, yet so brave. They are energetic and optimistic. They have hope and they are sincere. They believe the best will happen. They are so authentic and show their emotions without fear.
Children are open and honest, I find children refreshing and stimulating, joyfully putting more smiles on faces. I want to protect them from any harm as best as I can and give them a chance to prosper and grow in a positive environment by encouraging their personalities and bringing out their unique traits.
Program:
Colesville Farm Schoolhouse follows the Play-based learning approach to make learning more fun and engaging. My program offers extra-curricular activities such as arts & crafts, music, drama/musical theater, circle time, one-on-one group discussion, and puzzles. I also have a great book selection and lots of age-appropriate toys that kids really enjoy.
We spend our outdoor playtime in my private playground (which has a video camera for extra safety), and we also go to the nearby community park if the weather permits. In addition to English, I speak Amharic and can expose your child to this foreign language upon request (however, my daycare is not a bilingual or full immersion program).
I’m open all through the year between 7:30 am and 5:30 am, Mondays to Fridays. I can provide full-time and part-time care for infants as young as 8 weeks, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old, including children with special needs. Kids attending my program are provided with peanut and tree-nut free snacks (included in the tuition).
