About Me:
Hello parents! I am the owner and primary caregiver of Tanglewood Child Care Home. I have been caring for children for over 18 years, first as a hands-on mother to my own children. I am licensed, CPR and First Aid certified, and I bring both expertise and a mother’s intuition to my daycare. My journey into child care began with my own family. While raising my children, I took part-time jobs in grocery stores and often babysat my nieces and nephews.
I love working with children and families because I’ve seen firsthand how important a nurturing environment is for a child’s development. Being a mother has shaped my approach to caregiving; I understand children’s needs, and I know how to create a space where they feel safe, loved, and excited to learn. My oldest is now 18 years old, and I believe that parents will appreciate knowing that I have successfully raised children while maintaining a strong and loving bond with them.
Curriculum & Philosophy:
We follow a play-based curriculum, or as I like to call it, “fun-based” learning! I believe that children learn best when they are having fun and engaged in meaningful activities. Instead of pressuring children to memorize letters and numbers, I incorporate learning naturally into storytelling, hands-on play, and creative activities. For example:
* Reading & Writing: I love storytelling, and during story time, we introduce new words, letters, and writing activities in a way that feels exciting, not forced.
* Manners & Social Skills: By sharing meaningful stories, children easily pick up respect, kindness, and good behavior from an early age.
* Outdoor Play: On nice days, we explore our fenced backyard and playground, where children are free to run, play, and discover the world around them.
At Tanglewood Child Care Home, every child is treated like family. I am committed to providing a safe, loving, and enriching environment where your child can grow, learn, and thrive! Please reach out to schedule a visit, I’d love to meet your family and welcome you into our daycare!
