Welcome to Garrett Forest Playhouse, our bilingual daycare and preschool in Silver Spring, MD.

Hi parents! We are a mother and daughter team, and after working for several years at a child care center (and before that, as babysitters), we decided to open our very own licensed, home-based daycare! We’re a licensed family child care program and we are both first-aid and CPR certified, as well as MAT trained (Medical Administration Training.) We provide full-time care from 7:30am to 5:00pm, but can also provide part-time child care. We provide breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks to the children in our care, in a peanut-free and tree-nut free environment (all included in the tuition).

Garrett Forest Playhouse offers a bilingual Spanish-English daycare program for children between 6 weeks old and 5 years old. Our program focuses on learning and developmental milestones. We teach manners and also engage kids in fun, educational activities. Children in our care learn shapes, body parts, science, music, dance, etc. By the time they enter school, they can write out each letter of the alphabet and know how to spell their name. Children also go outside in the morning and after nap! Our COVID procedures include cleaning before and after snacks, naps, and in-between activities. We wash hands with soap instead of using sanitizer, which is far more effective at removing bacteria and viruses.

Our family child care and preschool program is in the Garrett Forest neighborhood of Silver Spring (near Holiday Park), near Connecticut Ave and Veirs Mill Rd. The closest elementary school is Viers Mill Elementary School (just a 10 minutes’ walk from our daycare!)
