Ferndale Children's Place, Springfield

Ferndale Children's Place is a licensed daycare located right off Ferndale St, in the North Springfield neighborhood of Springfield, VA. Our home-based child care and preschool program is conveniently located near major roads like the Capital Beltway (I-495) and Braddock Rd (Route 620). Our facility is open year-round, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. We offer full-time and part-time care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. We also offer drop-in care for parents with occasional child care needs, as well as before and after-school care for school-aged kids up to 12 years old (we're just a few minutes from North Springfield Elementary School). Hello parents, and welcome to Ferndale Children's Place! As a mother of two, I bring both personal and professional experience to child care: I have over 20 years of experience, including 11 years working in various child care facilities. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. I am also CPR certified, and I take pride in offering reliable, high-quality care. I started my in-home daycare in 2022 to combine my passion for child care and for education. Working with children is my passion, and seeing them grow and develop brings me joy. It’s truly rewarding to provide families with a safe, secure, and loving environment where they know their children are in excellent hands.

I provide a warm, caring environment for your little ones while offering a program tailored to each child’s age group. Our program is inclusive of every child, welcoming those with ADHD, autism, and learning disabilities. If parents have specific goals or developmental areas they want their child to focus on, I work closely with them to create a customized plan. Open communication is a priority: I share quarterly progress reports to keep parents informed about their child’s development, and I use a daily app to provide updates and photos throughout the day.

Ferndale Children's Place uses a Montessori-based curriculum. We also embrace play-based learning with a variety of fun and interactive weekly activities. Your child will develop important social and emotional skills, explore different environments, and enjoy hands-on learning. Children participate in engaging experiences such as reading, writing, storytelling, and cooking projects. We also schedule weekly field trips to libraries and local parks to expand their learning experiences. We integrate seasonal and cultural events into our activities. For example, we may bake cupcakes to celebrate Thanksgiving or organize crafts for other special occasions. Meals are offered for all children enrolled, and they're peanut-free and tree-nut-free to ensure safety for children with allergies. All field trips, snacks, and lunches are included in tuition, with no additional costs for parents.
