About Us
I’m the owner and main caregiver of this loving and nurturing daycare and preschool program. I'm a professional child care provider with 30 years of experience and a Child Development Associate's degree. I run my daycare with my assistant who has 3 years of experience, and we are both CPR & First-aid certified.
Program
Oak Grove Little Schoolhouse is open year-round from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Our daycare offers flexible options to accommodate your child care needs such as full-time care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers between the ages of 1 week and 5 years old, including children with special needs.
Lunch and snacks are served to all kids enrolled full-time (already included in the tuition)! Drop-in care is offered to parents who are just looking for occasional needs. We can also accommodate before and after school care for school-age kids, up to 10 years old (our facility is close to Forest Grove Elementary School).
Curriculum
We follow the Play-based learning approach to develop our little students’ valuable skills. My walls are full of learning posters and I include blocks, letters, numbers, and shapes in my curriculum. We also have circle time and story reading every morning, followed by an arts and crafts activity.
Children love to read books and learn their numbers, and they write them on their own, pointing to each one for a memory activity. In addition to English, we can teach them foreign languages (Hindi and Urdu upon parents' request); however, our daycare is not a language-immersion program.
I also send pictures to parents for every activity they complete and when going outside. I make sure that before entering school, children not only know the basics but are also advanced because I teach them one grade level ahead.
Safety
I sanitize and wipe down surfaces and toys on an hourly schedule. Parents pick up and drop off their kids at the door, and my COVID procedures include washing hands often and singing a birthday song while washing hands to get children excited. I also use wipes and a spray to sanitize throughout the day, but at the end of the day when the children are gone, I deep clean with bleach.
