St. Maximilian Kolbe's Korner Preschool, Westlake Village

Our Goals and Philosophy Kolbe's Korner programs are developmental in theory, as we believe all children need time and space to discover the world around them. At Kolbe's Korner we provide many of those opportunities. We provide a high quality, early education program for children ages 2-5 years that fosters curiosity, excitement and confidence in our young learners. We are an outreach program and are part of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. We do respect the diverse and cultural backgrounds of all people and welcome them into our loving and caring environment. Kolbe's Korner Preschool is made up of teachers, parents and students who together make up what feels like a large, loving family which one notices when visiting the campus. The joyful spirit permeates every aspect of our school. Kolbe's Korner not only offers preschool classes for children, but also many outside activities are planned by our very active parent board who provide easy opportunities for the development of friendships amongst our families. Parent education classes offer another avenue of education and support for the families of our program. Children who participate in the Kolbe's Korner preschool program discover that learning is fun. Music, stories, science exploration, exploring the world of numbers and letters, group games and pretend dress up fill their days with plenty of opportunities for joyful learning at its best. Kolbe's students learn how to treat others by learning good social skills based on Christian principles. As a result of experiencing this nurturing environment, the children establish a strong sense of self-confidence and self-esteem and a sense of wonder that sends them well on their way to becoming successful lifelong learners. Our goal is to provide our students with a love of school and learning. In order to reach this goal, our curriculum is designed to provide a foundation for the growth of intellectual, physical, social, spiritual and emotional skills needed to succeed in kindergarten and beyond.
