I am Afsaneh, the founder and lead teacher at Evergreen Home Montessori School. I hold a Bachelors of Science in Journalism and a Masters in Social Communication. I love working with children and believe that each child embodies a unique and wonderful spirit. My aspiration is to see children grow into adults who are independent, responsible, and compassionate innovators.” My passion for nurturing children led me to get a certificate in teaching from the American Montessori Society (AMS).
The Evergreen Home Montessori School offers several options to accommodate the needs of working parents. Our main preschool hours are 8:30 am – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. We also offer a before school program, starting at 7:00 am, and an after school program, ending at 5:30 pm (please note that the regular tuition is for our main preschool day; please call or email to discuss before/after-school, or the extended day).
Typically, the day begins in the morning with circle time. The children review the days of the week and the months of the year. The teacher presents new materials to the children. Each child is then given the opportunity to select a material from one of the curriculum areas throughout the classroom. At around eleven, the students return to circle time for get ready and then go outside to the play yard for about forty-five minutes and come back. At noon, we have lunch, followed by a nap from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Students then get ready for snack and go outside to the playground (weather-permitting of course), for about thirty minutes and come back.
