All teachers at Montessori Children's House have been specifically trained in the Montessori Method of education and philosophy. Each teacher has earned their Montessori certification and has also completed undergraduate studies in Early Childhood Education or related studies. Our Assistants have been trained in the Montessori Philosophy and have had several years of working in a Montessori school. It is mandatory for our teachers and assistants to complete at least 36 credit hours of continuing education and professional development each school year. This is in part required by the VA Department of Licensing as well as for MCH to comply with the Star Program (QRIS of Hampton Roads).
