As a Christian school, God's Word is the foundation for all of student life at Montrose Christian Montessori School (M.C.M.S.). Bible study, scripture memory, and practical application of biblical principles are all key to a student's growth. If your child is a visual, "hands-on" learner, he or she will love our Montessori education. M.C.M.S. employs the Montessori method of education, based on the work of Dr. Maria Montessori. The Montessori program is an individually-based curriculum that allows each student to progress at a pace that challenges him at his own level of ability. Some Montessori schools pride themselves in being "paperless", but we do not. We believe paperwork can reinforce the learning stages and permits parents to enter the process, as well. As important as our teachers are to children and their educational formation, we believe in teaming up with parents in order to strengthen the learning process for each individual student. Additionally, students at M.C.M.S. will experience a well-rounded education that includes sports classes, Spanish, music, Meet the Masters art, and weekly chapels. Optional extra curricular classes, such as computer, gymnastics and art, are also available to help the growth of our students. Upper elementary students can opt for voluntary experiences on the Student Council and Sixth Grade Club.
