I'm literally shaking as I'm writing this. I've been crying. I used to work at this center more than a decade ago. Life has changed for the better and now decided to enroll my daughter, 2 years old, at Rock Spring Children's Center. She was placed in the butterfly class. I have proof, not just hearsay, that the teachers spoke to her very abrasively. Estefani the lead teacher yelled at her in both Spanish and English and slammed her hand down either hitting my child or hitting on the table. For reference, we are a Latino and Bilingual speaking household. I had a very bad feeling about the teachers -- Estefani and the thin Indian lady seemed very ingenuine to me and the chubbier Indian lady never spoke. Something was off, my gut told me but now I have the concrete proof in my hands. My husband and I will arrive first thing on Monday morning to speak with the Director Sean and of course with Carrie — both of whom I used to work under. I will speak with the parents of the class on Monday as well. I'm so disappointed that I'm lost for words right now. My daughter just started attending this center on September 14, 2022 (exactly one day before her birthday). Tomorrow was supposed to be my precious daughter’s birthday celebration. I paid over $1,400 for the decorations, about $1k for the catering, $500 for the Cocomelon cake I ordered at my favorite shop in Laurel and after today all I’m left with is a broken heart. I’m not emotionally stable to celebrate anything at this point. I think this is how abuse with children occurs - when you have individuals who don’t like kids/are not trained properly on how to work with kids be placed in an environment where they’re working with children. These people need to find different jobs and reflect on how they would feel if someone did this to their child. How can these teachers be this mean, this cold? These are sweet and precious babies. I placed my trust in this center and in these teachers and my trust was completely violated. I’m lost for words.
