Azin is amazing! She cares for our children as if they are her own, I never worry about their safety or happiness when they are with her. She feeds them home made healthy meals, allows them plenty of outside play time, does crafts with them. She speaks to them in english and farsi, works on letters, numbers, telling time, and fine motor skills (cutting with scissors, painting, etc). She is willing to accommodate the needs of the various families: allergy concerns, our wish to cloth diaper, early potty training. The indoor space is large and well lit (with lots of windows to allow sunshine in), even in the winter there is plenty of space for the kids to run around and burn energy. She has a huge yard so the kids don't feel penned in, she even keeps chickens so the kids will visit them on good weather days. Because the daycare is small with the same children everyday the introduction of new germs into the system is at a minimum; while there are minor colds, there have been almost no sicknesses that require them to be sent home (meaning no parents having to take sick days to take care of sick kids). She has been an integral part of the parenting team - when we started having sleeping problems (from transitioning from two naps to one) she was the one who knew exactly how to restructure the day to preserve night time sleep. She has so clearly done all the transitions (taking away pacifiers, moving from bottles to sippy cups, adding formula or food to the diet, potty training, etc) before and can coach not only the child but also the parents through it and how to best make it work. We can't imagine finding a better child care situation than we currently have; enough so, that despite getting an amazing job offer outside the area we turned it down. We knew we would never be able to replicate the childcare we already have and knew that our kids being happy where they are (and us not having to worry about them through the day) was worth passing on the opportunity.
