Hope Montessori School is based upon the philosophy and teachings of Dr. Maria Montessori, a physician, anthropologist and three-time Noble Prize Candidate. Dr. Montessori devoted her life to the observation and education of children. She developed materials and an educational method that encourages independence, self-knowledge and an enthusiasm for learning.
Montessori focuses on the child's needs, and not the needs of the adults caring for and educating the child. The teacher acts as a guide, carefully observing and encouraging the child to explore his/her environment, social relationships and his/her place in the bigger world. A specially prepared environment allows children to establish a solid foundation in focus and concentration, which occurs naturally when the child's mind is absorbed in something he/she finds fascinating.
Our 5-day/week program offers morning Montessori class time for all children, and extended class time for 4 and 5-year-olds.
We also offer extended care available until 6:00 pm. We are open all year long, offering a summer daycare program for families enrolled during the academic year.
