My name is Catherine. I've been a childcare professional in the Washington DC area for nine years. I am First Aid CPR/AED and DHO trained and certified. I believe the first three years are the most formative years in a child's development. They learn through touch, smell, feel and sight. Children love learning and exploring the world around them. They enthusiastically use their senses to purposefully explore everything they can. Our curriculum is not just about the story we read, what art projects are made, or what project we made. We are about activities like crawling, walking, climbing, jumping, running, throwing, catching and balancing which in turn will develop gross motor skills. Once your little ones develop these skills they can gain fine motor skills such as building with blocks, drawing, stringing beads and painting which will in turn help develop hand-eye coordination and their sense of direction. These are the same skills that are needed for reading, writing, and math. This will assist in building a strong foundation for growth. Tootsie's Teeny Tots Childcare offers a spacious area for group interaction and learning so your child gains social skills as they develop academically. Child safety is very important to us at Tootsie's Teeny Tots, therefore our home has all the child safety measures taken. We are state-permitted home childcare, which means background checks, home safety checks with Social Service and Fire Marshall were completed. Outside play areas are fenced and well maintained to ensure your child's safety. All our children are under 5 years old, to keep the group's interests similar. We have security measures that limit access to our daycare. Only authorized and approved family members and friends will be allowed to pick up your child. Our indoor air quality is specially protected with UV-Aire ultraviolet system which is installed in our HVAC system. It kills and reduces airborne germs, bacteria, viruses, mold, and fungi. This is an added benefit, especially in the flu season. We partnered with the USDA food program. Healthy and nutritious meals and snacks are provided to help your child to stay focused, active and grow strong. Tootsie's Teeny Tots use the Tadpoles program to stay in touch with parents via electronic daily reports. Our home is cleaned, sanitized thoroughly every day for the health and care of your child.
