Step by Step Children’s Learning Center blends the comforts of home and family with the learning and nurturing environment of a preschool. We offer care for children from six weeks to six years of age, and as your child progresses from one age to the next, he or she will encounter the same nurturing, comforting atmosphere. As your child grows, each of the room’s instructors introduces new ideas and skills, supporting them with interactive lesson plans and activities, which entertain and teach. The curriculum used by our personnel has been approved by the State of Maryland and is based upon the Social Development Theory, which posits that learning is built level by level. Lesson plans and other teaching aids are supplied by education leader Houghton Mifflin. Our goal is to meet the needs of every child’s development. Language and cognitive skills develop through activities like circle time, story time, and art lessons. We also pay attention to a child’s social development – manners and social skills are taught at snack time and meal time. Outdoor activities help develop small and large muscle groups, and encourage teamwork.
