First Steps is operated by Ms. Alexis Isaac a mother of three beautiful young women 23, 19, and 18. She's a former Special Education Teacher with over ten years of experience as a Child Care Professional. Here at First Steps, it is our moral responsibility to provide quality childcare and develop partnerships with families. We believe that creating an atmosphere where learning is fun and exciting makes a child eager to attend daycare. We strive to capture the interest of children through fun, enjoyable, challenging yet rewarding learning experiences. We understand each child's uniqueness. And that all children have potential. At First Steps children are allowed to be children. They are never pushed to do things they aren't capable of. Instead, they are encouraged to develop at their own pace. Because of these beliefs, First Steps offers The Creative Curriculum for Family Child Care, approved by the Maryland State Department of Education. This program offers age and developmentally appropriate activities and routines to promote a child's learning and development in all core areas.
