Angel Child Care is a charming home-based licensed daycare run by Farzin, a mom of two with 23 years of experience. School Environment
Angel Child Care is conveniently located near a bus stop, the Sam Eig Hwy, the Fields Road Elementary and the Shady Grove Shopping Center. The daycare accepts children as young as 6 months through 4 years old. The daycare is open year-round and has been in operation for 13 years. Located in a pet and smoke-free home, facilities are situated in a furnished basement that is used solely as a daycare space. There's also a small paved and fenced-in patio.
The caregiver provides mostly organic home-cooked meals that are peanut and tree-nut free and prepared in accordance with the USDA Food Program. She can accommodate special dietary needs and allergies or, if desired by the parents, can serve food brought from home. All nursing mothers are encouraged to bring breast milk for their baby.
The program has a standard vacation and sick policy. If a child is sick with 101 fever or loose bowels, he/she must be picked up within an hour and be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to daycare. The program does not offer reduced tuition due to illness or vacation.
Learning Environment
This is a small daycare with no more than eight kids. They follow a play-based teaching philosophy, including some Montessori methods that teach children to be independent and use redirection as a discipline method. Reading, writing, math, science, as well as art and music are part of the daily curriculum. Curriculum is development-based and includes teaching life skills and good manners. The owner is a native Farsi speaker and can also use the language with the children if requested by their parents. Weather-permitting, children get 3 or more hours of daily outdoor activity.
Teachers
The caregiver and lead teacher and owner of the daycare, is a mom of 2 with 23 years of child care experience. She is CPR and First Aid certified, as well as M.A.T. certified and can administer over-the-counter and prescription medication.
Safety
This provider undergoes a background check every two years. Toys are washed daily. Injuries (bumps and scrapes) are reported to parents with an immediate phone call, verbally at pick up time and in writing.
