Welcome to Chrisalis Home Academy. We are a family child care registered and licensed thru the State of Maryland and participate in the Maryland Excel Program (Excellence Counts in Early Learning and School-age Child Care). We respect and appreciate the trust you have placed in us in caring for your child. We believe that parents are the most important people in a child's world, and we will make every effort to support you as a family. As parents, we have learned and experienced that children learn, grow and develop in a multiplicity of ways and at different levels. Therefore, as providers, we will seek to treat children as unique individuals; catering to their specific needs, which is easier accomplished in a small setting, such as our home. This allows us the benefits of being able to deliver individualized love and attention to each child; to gain healthy child development, positive self-esteem, problem-solving skills, socialization skills, and a true love of learning while in our care. In our childcare home, we will focus on the “whole child” by planning and designing activities that promote each child's: intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and physical growth and development. We believe by establishing a well-ordered, predictable and fun environment, where daily routines are consistently done by all caregiver's aids in positive child development. Such as arrival and departure times, mealtimes, nap times, activities and toileting. However, flexible enough to allow for teaching moments and opportunities that may occur. Daily routines provide opportunities for children to learn more about themselves, the world and others. It reinforces the “whole child” experience which will be the goal of our child home care. As needed, we will make changes to the daily routines to ensure it offers the children a sense of consistency and security, yet remaining flexible and responsive to the individual needs of each child.
